Wichita ArtDOG is a 24-hour online fundraising event created to rally community support for local arts organizations. This unique one-day fundraiser is a project of the Wichita Community Foundation (WCF). The event will be on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
The Wichita Community Foundation brings this event to the area with several goals in mind, including:
Through a community-wide public relations and marketing campaign, people are encouraged to visit ICTArtDOG.org on April 29, 2016, and donate to registered nonprofit organizations. WCF provides the online giving platform to each nonprofit at no cost to the organization.
The Wichita Community Foundation is leading the campaign. WCF is the catalyst that creates lasting legacies by partnering with people, families and organizations to devote resources to causes that matter. Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is the 2016 Premier Partner. Fidelity Bank Foundation and Don and Lora Barry are sponsors in the campaign.

All arts organizations registered as 501(c)(3)s located in Wichita, Kan. are eligible. Each organization will be required to create a profile page on the Wichita Community Foundation Art Day of Giving platform. Arts organizations are defined as "organizations that provide education and artistic leadership to the public through the production, exhibition, advancement or preservation of visual or performing art, literature, film, science, natural or cultural history."
All online donations will be charged a 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. The Wichita Community Foundation will receipt, tally, and disburse the donations. Each organization agrees to inform their donors about the Giving Day. This may include costs for print pieces, artwork, etc. at the organization’s discretion.
Yes! You can use ArtDOG as a way to educate new donors about what you do. Engage your board, partners, staff, and volunteers to help you with outreach.
We think it is important to build engagement and excitement leading up to the day. We encourage you to promote giving once your site page is live. Encouraging your regular donors to give to ArtDOG, rather than just a general donation can increase the dollars you receive from the bonus pool.
No, there is no limit to the amount a nonprofit can receive.
When you take on a big goal, one risk you run is that you won’t achieve it. Consider your tolerance for this when planning. Our advice is to set an ambitious goal. If you miss, learn from it, celebrate what you did achieve, and plan for the next ArtDOG based on your experience.
Organizations that decide to participate in Art Day of Giving will be provided a nonprofit toolkit, available on ICTArtDOG.org, as well as several dates for training leading up the event. Participants are encouraged to get in touch with staff at the Wichita Community Foundation for advice or help.
Online donations must go through the Giving Day website. Gifts of stock, checks, cash, and special transactions must be made directly to the organization to be included in the Giving Day totals. Nonprofit organizations will be required to submit a report to the Wichita Community Foundation of all offline transactions prior to 5:00 p.m. on May 2, 2016 in order for these monies to be included in the bonus pool calculations.
Within 30 days of April 29, all online monies that have been designated to a specific nonprofit for the purpose of ArtDOG will be disbursed via check by the Wichita Community Foundation.
The Giving Day platform, managed by Lifeboat Creative, handles all charitable receipting of donations. We encourage you to send personal thank you letters to all donors at the conclusion of the event. For all offline donations, WCF will provide you with charitable tax receipts, if you so choose.
Organizations that decide to participate in Art Day of Giving will be provided a marketing package, as well as several dates for training leading up the event. Participants are encouraged to get in touch with staff at the Wichita Community Foundation for advice or help.
